Intermediate Lindy Hop: "Jump Session" Series D, E and F
Each series typically starts on the first Thursday of the month at 7:20pm.
Jump Session focuses on improving fundamentals, building connection, creating momentum, and leading / following with your body. You'll add some exciting new moves to your Lindy repertoire and learn how to put it all together with style. Emphasis is also placed on dancing with the music, feeling the dance and challenging your lead and follow skills.
Prerequisites for Jump Session are taking at least two of the Back2Basics classes, although we really recommend students take all three. Speak to one of the instructors if you have taken Lindy Hop classes elsewhere. This series is progressive, every week we build upon the moves taught in the first week. Drop-ins are allowed the first two weeks only.
Series D: Lindy + Charleston
Series D will add some exciting new moves to your Lindy repertoire and teach you how to put it all together with style. You'll practice incorporating more advanced Charleston variations including Tandem, solo, Hand-to-Hand, and Strolling Charlestons.
Series E: Lindy + Spins & Slides
Work on your spins, turns and slides in series E. Learn to balance, leverage, and slide like a pro. You will practice fundamentals that lead to good technique. This is a fun class and you probably want to bring shoes that don't stick!
Series F: Lindy + Footwork & Styling
Want something to say with your feet? Series F introduces more advanced footwork and styling to your Lindy Hop vocabulary. Learn to really dance the moves that you already know and variations on your basic steps. Practice incorporating advanced moves like scissor-kicks, swivels, grapevines and heel-pops.
Costs: $50 for the series (four 1 hour group class) / $14 drop-in (First or second week only). Class includes dance admission. Check the calendar for current series »
